Have you ever wondered where faith comes from?  Well, you don't have to wonder any longer.  Our faith comes from God the Father.  Romans 12:3 tells us that God has dealt to every man the measure of faith.  You might be thinking, "Well, if God has given me faith, then why do I struggle and why doesn't it seems like my faith is working?".  It's simple.  Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God (Romans 10:17).  You see God has given us the measure of faith.  However, it's not just a one time thing.  We have to keep building and strengthening the faith God has given us by feeding on the Word of God.  When we hear God's Word, faith comes because God's Word is full of faith.  Notice Romans 10:17 says "Faith comes by hearing and hearing.  This indicates to me that we have to continue to hear the Word.  It's not just a one-time deal.  I hear a lot of believers say things like, "I have already heard this message,"  "I have already heard this, why do I have to listen to it again?".  Because faith comes by continually hearing.  The other day, I was listening to a teaching cd.  As I was listening to it, I was taking notes.  After I finished listening to it, the Holy Spirit spoke to me and said "Listen to it again."  As I listened to it again and took notes on the teaching one more time, I noticed that I had written things down the second time that I hadn't written down the first time.  After I was finished listening to the cd the second time, the Holy Spirit said "Listen to it again."  So I listened to the teaching cd for the third time.  Again, I took notes and again there were things I had written down that I hadn't written down the first or second time.  I realized that if I wanted to understand what God was trying to teach me through the Word of God that this other minster was preaching , I had to hear it over and over again.  It was not good enough for me to hear it just once.  When the Holy Spirit told me to listen to it again and I said I already heard that message, I would have missed what He was trying to teach me.  I wouldn't have had the faith to act on the Word that was being preached because faith comes by hearing and hearing and hearing and hearing.  Until faith comes and you can act on what you heard!
